Russell IPM, based in Deeside, Flintshire, United Kingdom, is a leading Bio-rational pest management company that integrates environmentally friendly pest management technologies in the agriculture sector for application in crop protection. Our major focus is the development of products based on insect pheromones.

In 1987, Russell IPM was primarily focused on manufacture, supply and formulating insect sex pheromone lures. 23 years ago, our focus was directed to pheromone systems mainly for monitoring purposes. Today, we deliver pheromone based control solutions that make real differences in residue free fresh fruit and vegetable production worldwide. With continuous growth and customer concern on toxic residue free fresh produce, saw our company shift its attention towards control programs rather than monitoring. The company is embarking on major expansion and increasing its product portfolio by developing new pheromone based pest control products.

Even though many insects can be adequately controlled with chemical insecticide, health and environmental risks involved impose serious limitations of the use of chemical control methods by regulatory authorities. Simultaneously many insects have recently acquired reduced susceptibility to insecticides that have been previously effective and now have proved to be a failure to control. Therefore, a range of alternative control products have been developed by Russell IPM.

Our Mass Trapping, Mating Disruption and Attract and Kill products are widely used by the open field and protected horticulture industry worldwide. Our control products ensure food safety, security and make real differences in pest management. Our technologies are compatible with natural enemies, pollinators and are non toxic to human health.

Over the last 23 years, Russell IPM research and development (R&D) team focused on developing high potential new products.

Russell IPM continues to build on its sound, integrated pest control strategy for sustainable development with new innovative products. Our research facilities include pheromone lure formulation laboratory, trap adhesive research unit, sophisticated wide range of pressure sensitive adhesive coating equipment, technology to incorporate and release pheromones and attractants in the adhesive layer. We have an insect behaviour monitoring laboratory in Deeside UK, and injection moulding facilities in Madrid Spain.

To date our R&D enable us to manufacture 150 insect monitoring pheromone lures, Conscent Mating Disruption, Dismate Mass Trapping, TAC-37 Attract and Kill control systems. New economically important insect pheromones are being identified by our research team helping us to provide meaningful solutions.

Russell IPM has built a strong research collaboration network with various university chemical ecology groups, international research organizations and professional scientific societies engaged with semiochemical related research.

Year on year our R&D generates new technology that fulfils our customer needs and enables us to develop the most promising products.
Russell IPM had been the commercial partner in DEFRA (UK) and EU, KTP funded projects concerning the development of multispecies attractant and pheromone release rate control technology.
