Pheroguard
In green houses, Lepidopteran moths are widely monitor and controlled by pheromone traps. Pheroguard provides a satisfactory protection against lepidopteran moths. Caterpillars caused potential damage to a variety of crops in protected cultivation. Biology of caterpillar
Lepidoptera larvae are called caterpillar. Caterpillars are voracious continuous feeders of leaves of tender fruit of glass house crops. The caterpillar has strong chewing mouth parts, two antennae and head with simple eyes. Their body is 13 segmented. Their life cycle pass through four stages, e.g. caterpillar, pupae, adult and eggs. The adult stages called moth or butterfly. Fully grown larvae caused substantial damage to the crops. Adult generally lays egg in batch on the leaf surface. Usually adult moth life span is about 10-12 days.
Damage caused by catepillar
Caterpillars are phytophagous. Young caterpillar mainly feed soft epidermal layer of tender leaves. Fully grown caterpillar caused severe damage by voracious feeding of leaf surface and making irregular holes on the leaves.
